- Get in the habit of waking up early. It really does feel good when you know you have a lot of time in the day to get anything done. If you usually wake up at ten, try making it nine and then eight and maybe even seven if you feel motivated enough.
- Eat clean. Trust me it pays off and it feels good. Of course if your eating habits aren’t the best right now it would be hard to change all of a sudden but doing it little by little will get you there. Cravings can hit hard sometimes but they will go away and the healthier you eat, the less you would crave anything unhealthy even if it’s in front of you. Who knew I’d be disgusted looking at vending machines?! Of course I occasionally crave chocolates and it’s perfectly fine when I have them because it’s not all the time. Your eating should be 80% clean and 20% indulgent
- Find an exercise that you love. I personally love running but it’s not everyone’s favorite. Whether it’s yoga, biking, Tai Chi, kickboxing, or any of the hundreds of sports out there, find the one that clears your mind and you heartfully enjoy and do it everyday or as many times a week as you can. Exercising in the morning is definitely one of the best ways to start your day.
- Stretch everyday. Start with simple ones and feel it in your muscles. You don’t even have to strain yourself but after day by day you will see how your body get’s more flexible and it always feels good knowing you can do more with your body. Lifting is pretty great too.
- Do whatever you need to do to feel confidant. Even if it’s waxing your legs when no one is going to see them or buying expensive lingerie. Take a nice bath, get your nails done, get a facial or a haircut or whatever it is. We may be busy a lot of times and forget that it’s actually possible to spend time on ourselves but its feeling confidant in our skin that makes us a lot more efficient.
- Stay hydrated. Drinking water clears skin, gives us energy, takes away cravings, and helps rid our body of toxins. 8 cups a day is a pretty good recommendation. It helps to buy a 32 oz water bottle and fill it up twice a day.
- Clean your room, desk, dresser or whatever is cluttered. Yea sure it feels more like home to see your stuff thrown everywhere but it’s a lot more calming to your eyes and soul to see a clean and organized space. Personally, seeing a clean room makes me feel more positive and creative.
- Go out and enjoy nature! It’s true nobody is perfect but nature is perfect and always beautiful in it’s unique ways. I find that photography and nature put together is the perfect way to ease my mind by just focusing on the beauty around me.
- Catch up with old friends. Maybe you haven’t spoken or seen them in a while but you have memories and it’s always fun bringing back old memories! I thank social media for keeping us connected because numbers change and people move but it’s like you were always connected to them seeing their Instagram or Facebook posts.
- Try new things that your curious about. I’d rather gag from tasting a drink on the shelf I’ve always eyed then pass by it every time and wonder it was like and never try it. This applies to everything. We live and we learn, all through experience.
- And finally: (stealing this one) Become the person you would ideally fall in love with. Let cars merge into your lane when driving. Pay double for parking tickets and leave a second one in the machine. Stick your tongue out at babies. Compliment people on their cute clothes. Challenge yourself to not ridicule anyone for a whole day. then two. then a week. Walk with a straight posture. Look people in the eye. Ask people about their story. Talk to acquaintances so they become friends.
